GEOLOGY
Formed in flat prismatic crystals with vertical grooves or striations, Kunzite is a variety of the mineral Spodumene.
Transparent by nature, the lovely hues of lilacs and pinks are very vulnerable and fade in direct sunlight. It can also occur in colourless, green and yellow varieties. Kunzite was named after George Frederick Kunz, the first person who was able to comprehensively describe the stone in 1902.
Found in Afghanistan, Brazil, and the USA.
